Third genders to contest local polls for ward members in Rupandehi
TILOTTAMA, RUPANDEHI: As many as three third genders on Friday announced their candidacy from the Naya Shakti Party Nepal (NSPN) for the June 14 local level elections in Rupandehi district.
Santu Pun, Aanik Rana and Bipul Basnet would be filing their candidacy for the post of ward member in Butwal Sub-Metropolis-8, Tilottama Municipality-8 and Devdaha Municipality-10, respectively.
Earlier, Rana and Pun had contested in the Constituent Assembly elections from Rupandehi-3 and 4. They said that they were filing the candidacy from the Naya Shakti party as other parties did not give them tickets.
Council member of NSPN Yagya Pokharel has confirmed their candidacy from the party.
