Three murderers made public

Rukum, March 1

It has come to light that Susmita Shah, 17, of Kholagaun-5, was murdered in a fit of rage for not giving alcohol on credit, in Rukum, a few days ago.

According to District Police Office Rukum DSP Rupesh Khadka, Yam Bahadur Pariyar, 26, Gyanendra Rana, 16, and Prem Khadka, 15, of Sarkena, confessed their crime during investigation.

The trio was made public at a press meet organised at the DPO.

A few days before the incident, the trio had reached Sushmita’s shop in an intoxicated state and created nuisance for not giving them alcohol on credit. “As she refused to give them what they were asking, they lost their temper and decided to kill her,” said DSP Khadka.

Meanwhile, police also discovered another motive behind the murder. “Susmita’s father is a social activist and he usually advises young boys to not get involved in indecent activities.

The boys, however, don’t take his advice positively. The arrested youths might have killed Sushmita in revenge,” said DSP Khadka.

Susmita had gone missing from a jungle near her house while she was collecting firewood.

After her whereabouts remained unknown for long, her father Prem Bahadur Shah had initiated a search operation with the help of his neighbours.
