TIFA's third meeting begins from today

KATHMANDU: Nepal and the United States have begun the third Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) meeting in Kathmandu from today.

The TIFA agreement was signed between Nepal and the US on April 15, 2011 with an objective to enhancing bilateral trade and investment between the two countries.

The two-day meeting would exchange views on the promotion of Nepali products and services in the US markets as well as attracting American investment to Nepal.

The Nepali team is led by Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce, Naindra Prasad Upadhyay where high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Investment Board and Department of Food Technology and Quality Control among others are participating, according to Spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce Rabi Shankar Sainju.
