POKHARA: Two persons were found dead and one injured in an under-construction hotel in Sarangkot of Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City-18 of Kaski district on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified four days later by their relatives as Nimachhiri Sherpa (15) and Anglakpa Sherpa (38), both residents of Shadanand Municipality-15 in Bhojpur district, and the injured has been identified as Angdana Sherpa (27).
It has been learnt that they were working in the under-construction Mountain Resort and Spa as labourers.
According to police, the incident occurred when the labourers — sleeping in the same hotel room — were attacked with a sharp weapon on Sunday night, killing two and injuring one. However, one of the labourers is missing.
The injured Angdana Sherpa was rushed to the Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital for treatment where he regained consciousness only on Tuesday, according to Khadga Bahadur Khatri, Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Kaski.
Police, during the preliminary investigation, found that the deceased bore deep bruises in their heads and faces.
Further details regarding the incident and the identity of the assailant are yet to be ascertained, informed Khatri. He further added that police had detained six other labourers for investigation, however, they were let go after their involvement in the case was not found.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway and search is on for the missing labourer, said police.
