KATHMANDU: Cadres of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on Friday set a moving ambulance on fire, in Katahari of Morang.

The vehicle (Ko 1 Cha 7997) was ferrying a patient child to a local hospital in district headquarters Biratnagar.

The Rastriya Samachar Samiti quoted DSP Pramod Kharel that police subsequently arrested eight cadres of Madhesi parties for their alleged involvement in the incident.

Police said the UDMF cadres vandalised around a dozen vehicles in Biratnagar alone today.
