UML condemns attack on leaders in Rasuwa

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML on Sunday condemned the attack on the local leaders of political parties and government officials in Rasuwa district and urged the government to book the culprits.

In a a statement, CPN-UML Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai demanded that the injured be provided with medical treatment.

According to the statement, some hooligans barged into the venue of discussion on restructuring the local level and attacked the participants with strick, iron rods and sharp weapons.

Local Development Officer Rajendra Dev Pandey, CPN-UML leader Madhav Aryal, Nepali Congress leader Janak Jeevan Upadhyaya and CPN Maoist Centre leader Madhav Lamichhane are among 12 people people who were injured in the incident, according to the CPN-UML.

Some of the injured are brought to Kathmandu for treatment.
