RAJBIRAJ: A woman was murdered with a sharp weapon at Mirchaiya Municipality in Siraha on Saturday night.

The woman has been identified as Phula Devi Mandal, 40, of the municipality. Police said Mandal had received deep cuts on her head and throat.

Locals informed the police as soon as they saw the body of the woman lying in the field near her house.

Meanwhile, district police office said the motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. Police have been investigating the case.
