Yarsa collector’s body found after 26 days

BHOJPUR: A yarsagumba collector’s body was found at Richepo of Makalu VDC in Sankhuwasabha on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Nurbu Sherpa, 21, of Makalu VDC. The body was found on the banks of a river at Richepo, said police. According to family sources, he had gone to collect yarsa on July 1. As he did not return home for several days, his father and brother-in-law had gone to search for him. A police team deployed from Area Police Office had found the body near the river.

Man drowns in canal

JHAPA: A person drowned in Kankai Canal of Jhapa on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Kumar Budhathoki, 44, of Shivasatashi Municipality. Police said Kumar had drowned while swimming in the canal. The body has been taken to Mechi Zonal Hospital in Bhadrapur for post-mortem.

Crushed to death

JHAPA: A person was killed after he was crushed by a tractor in Rajgadh of Jhapa on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Alam Sekh, 35. Jhapa police Chief Manoj Kumar Paudel said Sekh had died after the tractor that he was using to till the land of Samir Miya turned turtle and crushed him.
