ACC Emerging Teams Cup 2017's door closed for Nepal?

KATHMANDU: The door of ACC Emerging Teams Cup 2017 has been reportedly closed for Nepal after the Asian Cricket Council decided to include teams with ODI status only in the tournament.

The tournament had been proposed for March 15-25 in the United Arab Emirates.

Earlier, eight teams, including four associate nations, were selected for the tournament.

Hong Kong and the hosts United Arab Emirates, however, informed the ACC that they would be unable to participate in the tournament, citing their domestic engagements.

Now, U-23 teams of India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh, and Afghanistan's national team have been left to compete in the tournament.
