Guardiola misses De Bruyne ahead of Huddersfield clash

KATHMANDU: In their second match of the English Premier League 2018/19, reigning champions are set to host Huddersfield town at 6:15 pm NST today.

With Kevin De Bruyne out for three months with a knee injury, Guardiola sympathising with the injured mid-fielder's situation has said that he will be missed just like Benjamin Mendy was missed last season.

City who started title defense with 2-0 win over the Gunners are expected to field David Silva in the pitch. However, City as we all know are not short of talents with the likes of Gundogan and Benardo Silva on their squad.

In their first home game this season at Etihad, City host troubled Huddersfield who lost 3-0 in their home ground against Chelsea.

However, as per past season's stats, the Terriers held the reigning champions to a goalless draw in May after suffering a 2-1 defeat in November.

Provisional Squads:

Man City XI: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Kompany, Mendy; Fernandinho, B. Silva, Mahrez; Sterling, Sane, Aguero

Huddersfield XI: Hamer, Jorgensen, Schindler, Kongolo, Hadergjonaj, Mooy, Hogg, Billing, Lowe, Depoitre, Mounie
