Judokas to go to Hong Kong

KATHMANDU: A nine-member judo team, including seven players, is on Tuesday leaving for Hong Kong to take part in the Asian Judo Championship slated for May 23-28.

Olympian as well as 12th South Asian Games gold medallist Phupu Lhamu Khatri will compete in the women’s below-63kg weight category, while Manita Shrestha Pradhan will compete in the below-57kg and Lila Adhikari will take part in the below-52kg. Similarly, Kiran Gadel (60kg), Indra Bahadur Shrestha (66kg), Sanjit Dangol (73kg) and Mohan Sunuwar (81kg) will take part in the men’s events.

Coach Prithvi Alok and manager Devendra Acharya will accompany the players to Hong Kong.
