Nepal APF, RCW make winning starts

Nepal APF Club and hosts Rising Cricket for Women won opening day matches of the Women’s T20 Cricket League here at Ratnanagar grounds in Chitwan today.

APF beat Milan Cricket Academy by three wickets, while RCW saw off All India Women’s T20 Cricket Association by three runs.

In the first match which was reduced to 15-over-a-side, Milan scored 89-4 after batting first. In reply, APF reached the target in 13.4 overs with three wickets in hands.

Milan posted a fighting total after skipper Rubina Chhetri scored an  unbeaten 44-ball 46 with the help of seven boundaries, while Kabita Joshi scored 13 runs off 14 balls hitting two fours.

APF’s Karuna Bhandari claimed two wickets and Rekha Rawal took one wicket.

In reply, APF reached the target riding on Karuna Bhandari’s 30 runs off 33 balls that included four boundaries, while Sarita Magar scored 14 off 19 balls hitting two boundaries.

Milan’s Rubina Chhetri and Shanti Chaudhary claimed two wickets each.

Similarly, in another match reduced to 12-over-a-side match, RCW scored 119-1 after put into bat first but All India managed 116-2.

RCW’s Mamta Chaudhary scored a quick fire 22-ball 47 not out with the help of seven boundaries and a six, while Barsha Rana scored an unbeaten 38 runs off 36 balls.

In reply, Kanika Pal scored an unbeaten 48 off 28 balls hitting seven boundaries, while Sunita remained not out on 28 off 30 balls hitting four boundaries but All India fell four runs short. RCW’s Ashmina Karmacharya and Somu Bista claimed one wicket each.
