Nepal coach says women's football finals against India 50-50 affair
KATHMANDU: Nepal's coach Dhurba KC has expressed his hope that Nepal will perform their best in the South Asian Games women's football finals against hosts and defending champions India in Shillong tomorrow.
“We have already played against India in the league round. We know their weaknesses and so do they. We will try our best to hit them in their weak spots. The Indian team will also be doing the same," KC said.
“It is a big game and India have always been dominating women’s football in the region, but we believe that tomorrow’s match will be a 50-50 affair. The girls are confident that they can deliver,” he added.
With three wins and a tie, Nepal stood first in the league round with 10 points and sailed into the finals. Nepal defeated Maldives 3-0, Bangladesh 2-0 and Sri Lanka 4-0, while played a goalless draw against India.
India, on the other hand, finished second with eight points.
