Nepal's Gaurika Singh wins her heat in Rio Olympics

KATHMANDU: Nepal's Gaurika Singh finished first in her heat as she entered the pool in the women’s 100m backstroke event at the Olympics Aquatics Stadium as the youngest athlete in the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.

Singh's timing was 1:08.45.

But she was ranked 31st among 34 backstrokers. This meant she did not qualify for the next round.
