Olympian Bista distributes sports gears

Dhangadhi, November 8

South Asian Games record holder taekwondo player Deepak Bista handed over sports kits worth Rs 2.5 million to the players of different districts of Far-western Region today.

Olympian Bista handed over 400 sets of taekwondo dresses, 64 mats, 10 chest pads, 20 taekwondo pads, 100 footballs and 20 volleyballs.

World Taekwondo Federation, Child Reach International, Far-western Society Australia’s President Keshab Joshi, Sports Universe of Kathmandu, and tourism entrepreneurs Amar Shahi, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Sanjay Chaudhary and Captain Bed Upreti had supported for the sporting materials, informed Bista.

National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista was also present on the occasion. Member Secretary Bista said the support handed over by four-time SA Games gold medalist Bista would be beneficial for the players who were unable to continue their practice due to lack of sports materials.

Far-western Regional Sports Development Committee felicitated Olympian Bista for his achievement in the SA Games. NSC Member Secretary Bista handed over the letter of felicitation to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games participant Bista amidst a function.

Member Secretary Bista assured of providing required support for the development of sports in the Far-western region. Taekwondo coach Gobind Bista and businessman Tek Bahadur Bogati were also felicitated at the function.
