Lama clinches Charity Golf title

Kathmandu, April 5

Phuntsok N Lama won the title of the Rotary Club Kantipur Charity Golf Tournament here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club today.

The three-handicap amateur golfer Lama accumulated 41 points to claim the overall trophy. Sanjay Paudel was second with 35 points. Lama carded five birdies on his way to scoring 21 points on the front nine and 20 points on the latter half that also earned him the most birdies award.

Mithun Rai won the gross section trophy with the score of 29 points, while Bikash SJB Rana claimed the senior section award with 30 points and Binay Raj Pandey lifted the super senior section title with 26 points. Pawitra Yakthumba won the women’s section trophy with 38 points.

Shrihar SJB Rana bagged the longest drive award, while Yogendra Kumar Rai claimed the closest-to-the-pin trophy.  Chintamani Bhattarai and Neelam Yonjan won the putting competition which was held on the sidelines of the tournament.

A total of 42 players took part in the tournament which was played under stableford 3/4 handicap format. Rotary Club Kantipur President Sagar Thapliya and Assistant Governor Maj Gen (retd) Sharad Kumar Neupane among others handed over the prizes to the winners.
