Rana wins Laxmi Bank Open

Kathmandu, November 28

Robin Rana won the title of the Laxmi Bank Open Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, the eight-handicap amateur golfer Rana accumulated 39 points to claim the trophy. He also received Gokarna Pro-shop gift voucher worth Rs 20,000.

Tsultrim Lama finished second with 38 points and received Rs 10,000 worth gift voucher.

Tashi Ghale won the gross section title with 35 points and received gift voucher worth Rs 16,000. Lt Gen KNS Thapa bagged the senior section trophy with 36 points, while Tenzing Tsering came first in junior category with 30 points.

They received gift voucher worth Rs 9,000. Maj Nischaya Jung Rayamajhi was the winner among guest participants with 35 points and received gift voucher worth Rs 8,000.

Likewise, Miae Lee claimed the women’s section title with 33 points, while Rekha Ghimire came second with 28 points. Lee and Ghimire received gift vouchers worth Rs 10,000 and Rs 9,000 respectively.

Lobsang Tashi, who won the most birdies award with three birdies, also received special prize for wearing Laxmi Bank colour.

Vijay Shrestha Einhaus won the longest drive award, while Karma T Ghale bagged the closest-to-the-pin trophy. They received Rs 3,000 worth of vouchers.

A total of 106 players took part in the one-day tournament sponsored by Laxmi Bank. Chairman of Laxmi Bank Rajendra Kumar Khetan, CEO Sudesh Khaling and President of Gokarna Golf Club Suhrid Ghimire handed over prizes to winners.
