KATHMANDU: Shridiwa International School and Himali School advanced to the girls’ section quarter-finals of the 11th Shridiwa Monsoon Meet Inter-school Basketball Tournament here on Saturday.

Hosts Shridiwa defeated Himali 16-8 in the two-team group as both the sides made it to the last eight.

In other matches, Gyanodaya beat Wilson Academy 14-6 and Universal defeated Vidhya Kunja 28-15.

In boys’ section, Buddha Academy beat Wilson 41-30, HIMS defeated Gyanodaya 49-38 and Innovative saw off Central 59-38.

A total of 26 teams, 15 in boys and 11 in girls’ sections are taking part in the tournament.

Earlier, Shridiwa International School Principal Pavin Moktan inaugurated the event.
