KATHMANDU: Sonnet Cricket Club advanced to the semi-finals of the Deepak Gupta Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament at the Rangabhumi grounds on Thursday.

Sonnet defeated Birat Cricket Society by six wickets in the last league round match and finish second in Group B on net run rate after being tied on four points with Tribhuvan Army Club and Nepal APF Club.

TAC topped the group, while APF were eliminated. Batting first, Birat scored 94-5 in 20 overs before Sonnet raced to 95-4 in 12.4 overs riding on Rishav Rai's 32-ball 48 and 34 off 32 balls from Faiz Ahmad.

Nepal Police Club and Phoenix Cricket Club have already advanced to the semi-finals from Group A.
