Team to go to India

KATHMANDU: A three-member squash team is on Tuesday leaving for India to compete in the 19th Asian Squash Championship slated for April 26-30 in Chennai.

Players Amrit Thapa and Arhant Keshar Singh will take part in men’s singles category. According to Nepal Squash Rackets Association General Secretary Suresh Gurung, the players were selected as per their performance during the seventh National Games held last year. Thapa and Singh finished first and second respectively in the National Games. Kabir Chitrakar will accompany them to Chennai as team official.

This is first participation for Nepal in the Championship since 1981 held in Pakistan where Sanjib Rajbhandari, Anil Singh and Satya Narayan had taken part.
