Tribhuvan Army Club defeated Rumpum Jhapa-XI 1-0 and advanced to the final of the Birat Gold Cup Football Tournament here at the Shahid Maidan today.

TAC won the match against Jhapa riding on the solitary goal from Bimal Pandey.

After a goalless first half, Pandey broke the deadlock in the 69th minute.

TAC’s George Prince Karki missed a chance in the 27th minute. Similarly, Jhapa’s Bishwash Shrestha failed to score in the 36th minute.

On Saturday, Ruslan Three Star Club will take on CMG Club Sankata in the second semi-final match.

Top two teams of the event will earn Rs 1.37 million and Rs 500,000 respectively.
