Forest fire ravages community forest since last three days in Manang

Mukhung community forest of Nisyang Rural Municipality-2 that was engulfed by fire since Febraury 11, is yet to come under control.
A joint team from Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepal Army along with locals are working to contain the fire.
However, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Homnath Panthi, of the APF shared that the steep hill are making the fire-dousing efforts difficult.
Chief District Officer of Manang, Bishnu Prasad Lamichhane informed that every possible effort is being made to put out the fire. He however expressed concern over the delay by the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) authorities in finding the origin of the fire.
On the other hand, Head of ACAP Manang Lekhnath Gautam said an investigation is taking place with the help of the locals but no clue has been found yet.
