96 new Covid-19 cases registered on Thursday; nationwide tally hits 273,166

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 18
Nepal on Thursday reported 96 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 273,166.
Of the total cases, 42 are females while 54 are males.
In the last 24 hours, 42 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases.
Kathmandu district alone witnessed 30 cases of Covid-19. Lalitpur reported nine new cases while Bhaktapur logged only three cases, today.
Likewise, 111 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.
As of today, 269,505 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.7 per cent.
Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,603.
The nationwide death-toll reached 2,058 with three fatalities reported today.
According to the health ministry, 3,541 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,131,330 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 71 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Wednesday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 273,070 with 125 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 110 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.4 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 85 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 22 million cases are still active.
