KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 11

Nepal on Thursday reported 81 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 272,430.

Of the total cases, 37 are females while 44 are males.

In the last 24 hours, 33 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases.

Likewise, 111 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.

As of today, 268,660 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.6 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,718.

Meanwhile, five more fatalities from the disease have taken the total death-toll to 2,052.

According to the health ministry, 3,023 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,107,649 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 87 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Wednesday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 272,349 with 134 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, 2.3 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19 while over 107 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus.
