97 new Covid-19 cases registered on Friday; nationwide tally hits 273,263

KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 19
Nepal on Friday reported 97 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 273,263.
Of the total cases, 31 are females while are 66 males.
In the last 24 hours, 34 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital and Chitwan host the highest number of active cases with both the districts holding 23 new cases.
In the Kathmandu Valley, Lalitpur reported five new cases while Bhaktapur logged six cases, today.
Likewise, 114 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.
As of today, 269,619 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.7 per cent.
Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,583.
The nationwide death-toll reached 2,061 with three fatalities reported today.
According to the health ministry, 2,931 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,134,261 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 68 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Thursday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 273,166 with 96 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 110 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.4 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 85 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 22 million cases are still active.
