KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 14

Nepal on Sunday reported 104 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 272,718.

Of the total cases, 48 are females while 56 are males.

In the last 24 hours, 61 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases.

Kathmandu district alone witnessed 47 cases of Covid-19. Lalitpur reported 12 new cases while Bhaktapur logged only two case, today. Presently, there are 1,000 active cases in Kathmandu district while Lalitpur has 40 active cases and Bhaktapur 14.

Likewise, 131 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.

As of today, 269,060 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.7 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,604.

The nationwide death-toll remains at 2,054 with no fatalities reported today.

According to the health ministry, 3,501 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,117,050 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 79 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 272,614 with 57 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 109 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.4 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19.

Likewise, over 81 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 25 million cases are still active.
