125 new cases of Covid-19 registered on Friday; tally shifts to 275,750

KATHMANDU, MARCH 19

Nepal on Friday reported 125 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 275,750.

In the last 24 hours, 30 cases surfaced in Kathmandu district, Lalitpur reported five cases, while 10 new cases were reported from Bhaktapur. Among all the districts, Kaski holds the highest number of infections in the country; 48 new cases were reported in the district today.

Likewise, 123 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 271,733 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.5 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,001.

The nationwide death-toll has reached 3,016 with one Covid-related fatality reported today.

According to the health ministry, 3,161 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,230,708 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 51 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Thursday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 275,625 with 107 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 122 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.7 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 98 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 21 million cases are still active.
