Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali said although the Supreme Court ruled that the option of stable governance be explored within the Parliament, the initial days of the reinstatement of the House of Representatives did not show promising signs.

Speaking on behalf of the government at the House of Representatives today, Minister Gyawali said the government was prevented from tabling some crucial ordinances.

Addressing from the rostrum of the House, Gyawali said the government had dissolved the HoR to seek fresh mandate, but since the SC had nullified the government's move, the latter was committed to upholding the apex court's verdict.

'We neither offer sweets to celebrate a court verdict nor do we brood over a verdict that is against our favour,' Gyawali said. His sarcastic remarks were aimed at former prime ministers Madhav Kumar Nepal and Pushpa Kamal Dahal who had offered sweets to each other after the Supreme Court reinstated the HoR. But the Supreme Court decided to nullify the unification between the CPN-UML and CPN-MC shortly. He wished that the House could be active in passing the stalled bills and forging consensus.

'I heard a lot of charges of regression against the government.

But those who are making such accusations are doing so because they could not become the prime minister,' he said. This remark was aimed at Madhav Kumar Nepal and Pushpa Kamal Dahal.

Gyawali took potshot at CPN-MC chair Dahal. 'In a tale, a camel desperately wanting to save itself from rain reaches an old woman's house.

The woman gives enough space only for the trunk of the animal to protect it from rain.

After sometime, the animal keeps the whole body in the woman's house. Later, the women has to leave her own house,' he shared.

His remarks were aimed at Dahal commanding majority in the NCP and rendering party chair and PM Oli in minority.

Gyawali said the government had done well in spurring development even when the economy was badly hit by the COVID-19 crisis.

He said the government discussed the issues of Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh and Kalapani in the bilateral talks with India.

In a sarcastic remarks against former prime ministers Nepal and Dahal who had celebrated the SC verdict to reinstate the HoR by offering sweets to each other, Foreign Minister Gyawali said, 'The government upholds the court verdict. The government neither offers sweets after a court verdict nor does it lose hope after a verdict.'
