188 new Covid-19 cases take nationwide tally to 276,244 on Tuesday

KATHMANDU, MARCH 23

Nepal on Tuesday reported 188 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 276,244.

In the last 24 hours, 76 cases surfaced in Kathmandu district, Lalitpur reported 16 cases, while five new cases was reported from Bhaktapur.

Likewise, 77 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.

As of today, 272,097 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.5 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,128.

The nationwide death-toll stands at 3,019 with zero Covid-related fatality reported today.

According to the health ministry, 4,032 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,245,030 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 48 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Monday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 275,056 with 150 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 124 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.7 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19.

Likewise, over 100 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 21 million cases are still active.
