KATHMANDU, MARCH 24

The no-trust motion filed against Province 1 Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai by the Dahal-Nepal faction leaders of erstwhile Nepal Communist Party (NCP), is likely to be withdrawn.

No-confidence motion against Rai, close to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli led faction, was filed in the Provincial Assembly on February 21.

First meeting of Province 1 parliamentary party of CPN-UML, following the Supreme Court's March 7 decision that dissolved the unified party NCP (NCP) to revive CPN-Maoist Centre and CPN-UML, was held today.

The PP meeting ordered CPN-UML lawmakers who had signed the motion to withdraw their signatures.

Also present in the meeting were party members belonging to the Nepal-Khanal faction.
