People enjoy Holi, the festival of colours, in different parts of the Kathmandu Valley, on Sunday.

The festival marked primarily by the Hindu community falls on Falgun Shukla Poornima of the lunar calendar. It is the day when people come together in love and goodwill as families and communities and when adults and children celebrate alike.

Authorities earlier had urged the public not to go in a large circle or gathering in Holi this year and follow safety guidelines to protect themselves against the contagion.
