Indian army hands over 100,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Nepali Army

KATHMANDU, MARCH 29

The Indian Army has provided one lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccines to the Nepali Army (NA) in order to tackle the further spread of the highly contagious virus.

Spokesperson of the Nepali Army Brigadier General Santosh Ballav Poudel announced the news of arrival of the AstraZeneca vaccines in the aforementioned quantity.

Similarly, he also stated that the formal handing over of the vaccines will take place in the next few days while currently the vaccines had arrived at the Kathmandu-based Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

Earlier, the Govt of India had temporarily put on hold the export of the India-made COVID-19 vaccines also impairing the ongoing COVID-19 vaccine drive in Nepal.
