The Supreme Court has rejected the review petition registered by Chairperson of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal to review its decision that had nullified the unification between CPN-UML and Maoist Centre. The two parties, post the decision, had reverted to their single status.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana and justices Prakash Dhungana and Tej Bhahadur KC had made a decision to this effect. CJ Rana had earlier today alloted Dahal's petition to his bench.

On March 30, Dahal had filed a review petition at the Supreme Court challenging its decision to nullify the unification between CPN-UML and CPN- MC.

A division bench of justices Bam Kumar Shrestha and Kumar Regmi had on March 7 decided to accord the name 'Nepal Communist Party' to Rishi Ram Kattel-led party and effectively nullified the 2018-unification between the UML and CPN-MC.
