128 new Covid-19 cases registered on Saturday; total infection count stands at 277,768

KATHMANDU, APRIL 03

Nepal on Saturday reported 128 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 277,768.

In the last 24 hours, 57 cases have surfaced in Kathmandu district which holds the highest number of coronavirus cases in the country. Similarly, Lalitpur reported 10 new cases while Bhaktapur registered two.

Likewise, 161 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 273,123 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.3 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,613.

The nationwide death-toll has reached 3,032 with one Covid-related fatality reported today.

According to the health ministry, 2,727 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,281,832 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 59 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Friday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 277,640 with 179 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 130 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.8 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 105 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 22 million cases are still active.
