KATHMANDU, APRIL 04
Nepal on Sunday reported 176 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 277,944.
Of the total cases recorded today, Kathmandu observed 87 new infections, Lalitpur recorded eight cases while Bhaktapur recorded four new cases. Kathmandu holds the highest number of new cases recorded today and Kaski with 24 new infections is the second in line.
117 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 273,240 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.3 per cent.
Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,672.
The nationwide death-toll has remains 3,032 with no Covid-related fatality reported today.
According to the health ministry, 3,456 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,285,288 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 57 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 277,768 with 128 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 130 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.8 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 105 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 22 million cases are still active.
