KATHMANDU, APRIL 5

The ruling CPN-UML has decided to take action against those involved in the formation and operation of parallel committees.

In the latest conversation with the media on Monday, party leader and chief whip Bishal Bhattarai, who belongs to the Oli factiom, said that formation of parallel committees was an undemocratic and a disproportionate practice.

Similarly, Bhattarai added that recently action had been taken against some party leaders and any other members for conducting anti-party activities, and those engaging in parallel activities will be dealt with in a similar fashion.

Citing the failure of senior leader Madhav Nepal, Bhim Rawal, Ghanashyam Bhusal and Surendra Pandey to provide a reasonable clarification on being sought an explanation for their anti-party activities, the four have been suspended from the party for six months.
