Nepal records 260 new cases of Covid-19 in 24 hours

KATHMANDU, APRIL 06

Nepal on Tuesday reported 260 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 278,470.

Of the total cases recorded today, Kathmandu district observed 108 new infections, Lalitpur recorded 33 cases while Bhaktapur registered eight new cases. Kathmandu holds the highest number of new cases recorded today.

Likewise, 113 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry.

As of today, 273,455 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.2 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 1,979.

The nationwide death-toll currently stands at 3,036 with zero Covid-related fatalities reported today.

According to the health ministry, 4,243 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,294,067 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Currently, there are 69 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Monday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 278,210 with 266 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 131 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.8 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19.

Likewise, over 106 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 22 million cases are still active.
