Of the total 1,040 antigen tests carried out at various entry points into the country, 41 antigen positive cases were detected in the past 24 hours

Nepal on Wednesday reported 298 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 278,768.

Of the total cases recorded today, Kathmandu district observed 132 new infections. Kathmandu holds the highest number of new cases recorded today.

Likewise, 74 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 273,529 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.1 per cent.

Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 2,201.

The nationwide death-toll currently stands at 3,038 with two Covid-related fatalities reported today.

According to the health ministry, 4,100 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,298,167 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.

Similarly, of the total 1,040 antigen tests carried out at various entry points into the country, 41 antigen positive cases were detected.

Currently, there are 65 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Tuesday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 278,470 with 260 newly confirmed cases.

Globally, over 133 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 2.8 million people have lost their lives to Covid-19. Likewise, over 107 million people have recovered from the disease while more than 22 million cases are still active.
