Nepal APF enter final; Sudurpashchim win

KATHMANDU, APRIL 6

Nepal APF Club recorded their third straight victory to make it to the final of the Lalitpur Mayor Women's Championship here at the TU Stadium today.

APF defeated Lalitpur Mayor-XI by 10 wickets to accumulate six points from three matches. In another match, Sudurpashchim Province stunned Province-1 by 40 runs.

Batting first, Mayor-XI posted 66-9 in their allotted 20 overs before APF raced to 67 without loss with 65 balls to spare. APF openers Rajmati Airee and Indu Barma overcame the 67-run target with ease. Airee remained unbeaten on 33 off 31 balls that included four boundaries, while Barma scored 28 not out from 24 balls hitting three fours.

Earlier, Kanchan Shrestha top scored for Mayor-XI with 17 runs, while only two others contributed in double figures. Shrestha struck two fours in her 30-ball knock. Santoshi Chaudhary remained unbeaten on 13 off 19 balls that included two boundaries, while skipper Saraswati Kumari scored 22-ball 12 with the help of a four.

Player of the match Binu Budha was the pick of the APF bowlers taking 4-11, while Rekha Rawal claimed 2-21. Suman Bist, Karuna Bhandari and Sita Rana Magar pocketed one wicket each for the departmental side.

In another match, Sudurpashchim posted 129-4 in 20 overs before packing Province-1 for 89 runs in 18.5 overs. Bindu Rawal completed her half century scoring 52 off 58 balls with the help of four boundaries. Rewati Dhami struck three fours in her 32-ball 30,while Kabita Joshi scored 21off 24 balls that included two fours.

took one.

In reply, Province-1 skipper Rubina Chhetri top scored the team with 27 off 20 balls that included five fours, while Apsari Begam was the next best contributor with 39-ball 22 with the help of three fours. Sangita Rai (13) and Ngima Tamang (10) also scored in double figures.

Laxmi Saud took 4-19 for Sudurpashchim and she was later named the player of the match.
