KATHMANDU, APRIL 18

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba today said that he was not longing for the premiership, but if his party had the opportunity to lead the next government, the party would not run away from its responsibility.

Launching the book Nepali Janajatiya Sanskar ra Sanskriti authored by Shree Ram Shrestha, here today, Deuba said he did not want to pick up a fight with the incumbent government as the government continued to command majority in the House of Representatives.

He further said that the CPN-Maoist Centre had continued to extend support to the government, which meant that the government continued to command a majority in the House of Representatives.

Stating that the current political situation was fluid, the NC President said that he had told party leaders to carefully watch the political situation as politics could take any turn in the near future.
