KATHMANDU, APRIL 22

Chairperson of CPN-UML Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and party's senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have continued with their meeting at Marriott Hotel in the capital city, today as well.

The two leaders of the ruling party had also met at the same place on Wednesday evening, breaking months of communication gap. In yesterday's meeting, the two leaders were known to have spent some time in a one-on-one discussion.

They have met today to take forward their dialogue.

Factions within CPN-UML remain at odds. While one faction is led by Prime Minister Oli, the other has found its leadership in senior leaders Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal.

While the Khanal-Nepal faction has been forming and running parallel committees in the party, PM Oli has been issuing suspension notices and threats of permanent expulsion to members of the disgruntled group.

Meanwhile, five leaders belonging to the Nepal faction have forwarded their explanation in response to clarification sought by Parliamentary Party leader PM Oli. The clarification was forwarded by leaders Jhalanath Khanal, Mukunda Neupane, Bhawani Khapung, Surendra Pandey along with senior leader Nepal himself.

The document has been submitted to the Parliamentary Party's office. One of the major points of argument within their explanation is that -- neither have they left the party nor formed a new one, and as such, they cannot be removed from the position of parliamentarians representing the UML.
