Health Ministry reports 139 more deaths from Covid in Nepal, toll climbs to 3859

KATHMANDU, MAY 10

The Ministry of Health and Population on Monday updated Nepal's Covid-19 death tally by 139 more deaths, taking the total number of fatalities from the disease to 3859.

This is the highest number of deaths to have been reported in a single day in the country. Similarly, the single day case count too broke its previous record of 9023, registering 9127 intraday infections.

Nepal's Covid-19 tally crossed the 400,000 mark and reached 403,794 on Monday with the addition of 9,127 fresh cases.

The capital city recorded 2,775 infections, Lalitpur 505 cases, and Bhaktapur 327 cases today, taking the valley's total 24-hour figure to 3,607.

On Sunday, as many as 52 people had succumbed to Covid-19, taking the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll to 3,720, including 26 unreported ones in official statistics.
