GAIGHAT, JUNE 6
People's movement in the bazaar area has gone up after banks and financial institutions were allowed to open for three days a week in Udayapur from this morning.
District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee had decided to open financial institutions even though the mortality and infection rate had not come down.
Vehicles have been plying from early morning even though the administration had banned two and four wheelers.
The committee decided to allow vehicles carrying medicines, vegetables, food materials among other essentials to ply. However, businessmen did not follow the administration's regulation in the district. Although the local levels have demanded tightened security to bring the virus under control, the local government has paid no attention to implementing the regulations.
Parsuram Thapa, a local, said that not only financial institutions, but schools and colleges could open as no one was following the regulations. He added that there was no point in closing education institutions.
Meanwhile, civil rights leader Suman Pariyar said that the prohibitory order should be enforced strictly to bring the possible spread of the virus under control.
'The infection is increasing rather than decreasing,' he added.
