Additional 2391 Covid cases surface on Monday, active cases advance to 27908

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 682,947 on Monday with 2,391 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 682,947 on Monday with 2,391 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 645,301 with 1,686 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 9,738 with 25 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 17,272 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 12,240 were PCR tests while 5,032 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,551,2323 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 1,030 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 3,421.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.5 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 27,908.

The capital recorded as many as 677 infections today while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur recorded 197 and 125 respectively. This totals to 999 in the valley.

So far, a total of 4,828,570 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 3,405,154 have received the first dose while only 1,423,416 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 358 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Sunday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 680,556 with 1,539 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 194 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.1 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 176 million people have recovered while more than 13 million cases are still active.
