Nepal logs 2280 new Covid-19 cases, 23 new deaths take toll to 9857

Nepal reported as many as 2,280 coronavirus infections on Saturday, while 826 people were detected to have been infected through antigen tests.
Following this, the coronavirus caseload has reached 695,389, as per the Ministry of Health and Population's records.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 654,177 with 1,916 discharges logged today. On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 9,857 with 23 more fatalities.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 13,519 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 9,263 were PCR tests while 4,256 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,603,465 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.1 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.
The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 31,355 as opposed to 31,014 on Friday.
As many as 517 infections surfaced in the capital today while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur recorded 164 and 94 respectively.
So far, a total of 5,682,627 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 3,936,724 have received the first dose while only 1,745,903 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
Currently, there are 380 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Friday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 693,109 with 2,467 more people testing positive for the infection.
Globally, over 198 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.2 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 178 million people have recovered while more than 14 million cases are still active.
