NEPSE hits 3111 points, posts new all-time high

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the sole secondary market of the country, posted a new all-time high as it reached 3,111.09 points, on Tuesday.

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the sole secondary market of the country, posted a new all-time high as it reached 3,111.09 points, on Tuesday.

The benchmark index that opened at 3094.24 jumped by 26.02 points, a 0.84 per cent increase to record height on the third trading day of the week.

Similarly, the sensitive index measuring the performance of Class 'A' stocks, rose by 5.0 points to 577.52 points. The float index that gauges performances of shares actually traded also rose by 1.72 points to 216.65 points.

Meanwhile, the trading market today saw 21,129,088 units of shares of 223 companies traded through 106,620 transactions that amounted to Rs 11.529 billion.

At the end of the market today, the total market capitalisation stood at Rs 4.342 trillion.

Almost all of the sub-indices were in the green except the Development Bank index and Mutual fund.

Meanwhile, the Microfinance index led the group of gainers with a 221.57 points increase, followed by life insurance and trading indices at 119.28 and 101.38 points respectively.
