Nepal's Covid-19 caseload tops 700k, fatalities toll surpasses 9900 with 24 more deaths

Nepal reported 2,448 fresh Covid cases on Tuesday, while 935 people were detected to have been infected through antigen test, adding up to a total of 3,383 single day infections.
Following this, the coronavirus caseload has reached 702,097, as per the Ministry of Health and Population's records.
Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 660,116 with 1,994 discharges logged today.
On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 9,922 with 24 more fatalities.
As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 16,718 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 10,638 were PCR tests while 6,080 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,633,118 PCR tests have been carried out till date.
Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.
The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 32,059 as opposed to 31,629 on Monday.
As many as 613 infections surfaced in the capital today while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur recorded 177 and 114 respectively.
So far, a total of 6,257,243 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 4,254,540 have received the first dose while only 2,002,703 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.
Currently, there are 371 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Monday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 699,649 with 2,279 more people testing positive for the infection.
Globally, over 199 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.2 million people have lost their lives to the disease.
Likewise, over 180 million people have recovered while more than 15 million cases are still active.
