KATHMANDU, AUGUST 3

In the wake of steadily rising Covid-19 cases, the in-place pandemic prohibitory orders in Kathmandu valley have been extended by yet another week.

A meeting of the Chief District Officials (CDOs) of the three districts of the valley including Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur decided to push the lockdown till August 11.

In a press release issued by the District Administration Office (DAO) Kathmandu, the office had warned all to steer clear of activities that go against Covid-19 safety protocol with the intention of stringent implementation of the safety protocols.

The ongoing prohibitory orders allows shops to operate till 7:00 pm while only online delivery and take-away services have been permitted to operate for restaurants.

Meanwhile, swimming pools, gymnasiums, cinema halls, party palaces, dance bars, educational institutions, etc have been barred from conducting affairs.

As many as 613 infections surfaced in the capital today while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur recorded 177 and 114 respectively. Meanwhile, the national Covid caseload has surpassed 700,000 while the total fatalities are quickly approaching the 10k mark.
