Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal leader Rajendra Mahato has accused one of his party co-chairpersons, Upendra Yadav, of dismantling the party.

'Unity between Madhesis is a must in this struggle for our rights, but our second Chair Upendra Yadav is trying to disintegrate this unified force, which is unfortunate,' said the JSP-N leader, addressing the cadres of his faction at Rajbiraj today.

'He'd approached the Election Commission seeking a divorce with us, and the EC has obliged him by giving authenticity to his faction,' said Mahato.

'The EC might have obliged Upendra Yadav but it had subverted the unity among the Madhesi forces,' he said, asking his cadres to stay alert against the elements destroying the unity among the Madhesis.

Further, Mahato said his faction had done a favour to Upendra Yadav and his group by agreeing for a unity, earlier. 'At a time when the party led by Upendra Yadav was facing existential crisis, we helped them by agreeing for the unity without any conditions. Now, he is up to splitting this unity,' he said.

On a different note, Mahato sought credit for convincing former prime minister KP Oli to fulfil the demands of the Madhes.
