KATHMANDU, AUGUST 19
CPN-Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal today said the Council of Ministers would soon get full shape.
Speaking at an interaction on 'Marxism and socialism in the 21st century' organised by the Socialist Centre Nepal here today, Dahal said there was a new development regarding the expansion of the Council of Ministers since yesterday.
'This morning we three: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and I sat for a meeting and concluded that there should not be further delay in giving full shape to the government,' he said.
According to the former prime minister, the expansion of the Cabinet will conclude once a new political party registered yesterday is verified.' 'Unlike past ordinances, the ordinance issued by the government to split political parties is meant for safeguarding democracy, the constitution and republicanism,' he argued.
Dahal said, 'Three perspectives are considered with regard to Marxism. The first perspective deals with the radical ideology of Marxism, while the second perspective is concerned with class cooperation instead of class struggle. The third one is related to the moderate views of Marxism.' He stressed the need to come up with constructive thinking, wider discourse and dialogues, and new analysis about Marxism.
Speaking on the occasion, Janata Samajbadi Party-Nepal leader Baburam Bhattarai said the world was almost convinced that socialism was an alternative to capitalism, but discussions were under way to find an appropriate model of socialism.
He said the existing model of socialism had become a failed practice along with capitalism and broader discussions were needed to explore new forms of socialism.
On the occasion, Dahal and Bhattarai released a book titled 'Agriculture and Socialism' by CPN-MC central member Bamdev Chhetri Ghimire.
